Does the job brilliantly but doesn't leave hair soft
Having really fine hair I looked to get something to help with this. I've shopped with aveda before and always have loved their products. When first applying the hair tonic to my hair I could instantly see and feel a different in the thickness, my hair looked fuller and more voluminous (exactly what I was looking for). What disappointed me was how it left my hair feeling. Usually I can just run my fingers through my hair but I couldn't do this, it has also lost its softness leaving it feeling slightly dry. Overall I will give this product a 4 star was it has done its desired purpose but I'm slightly disappointed with it. Probably won't buy again.

Amazing product!
I was sceptical about this purchase but decided to give it a go...so pleased that I did! My hair is thinning in one spot probably due to the menopause and my scalp was visible which I found really hard to live with as I have always had quite a good head of hair.I sprayed this onto my roots and combed through then blow dried as normal. Wow, couldn't believe the result..thin patch,what thin patch?? GONE and my hair felt great, no stickiness just normal but thicker.I thought maybe it wouldn't last but 2 days later still no scalp showing through my hair. Yes it's not cheap but I always think you get what you pay for and I will be happy to purchase this product again and again. Thanks Aveda!!

This thickening tonic helped me to achieve a new hair style.
I was totally amazed at the difference this product made to my hair. I have tried changing my hairstyle before but was never able to as my hair was too thin to manage. This product has allowed me to grow my hair slightly longer and rock a fringe for the first time. Giving me a softer and younger look which as I have just turned 50 is a good thing. It is so quick and easy to use. I just spray 2-3 pumps into my hand with 5 pumps of phomollient styling foam and work into my hair before blow drying. I cannot recommend this product highly enough. It does exactly what it says.

Added Texture and Volume
When you have superfine hair like mine a complimentary bottle of a product that promises to thicken what hair you have is very welcome. Firstly, I have to say that I am very fussy about what I use on my hair and cannot stand anything that leaves a 'coated feeling' or stickiness or something that leaves hair limp or greasy the next day. Aveda Thickening Tonic did none of these things! My hair felt natural and the next day was just as bouncy. For the first time my hair felt as if it had some substance and texture...it felt thicker...which is what Aveda promised I know...but it ACTUALLY did it! I've uploaded a couple of pics showing my hair before and after and its easy to see that there the my hair looks thicker in the second photo. I used Invati Shampoo and Pure Abundance Conditioner and then the Thickening Tonic to damp hair and blow dried.

This product is amazing!! For the past few years I've had problems with my hair thinning and tried every treatment on the market, a friend recommended this product to me and I haven't looked back, the change in my hair is just amazing!! It feels full an thick, everyone has noticed the difference, I've have bought 3 bottles so far an I'll continue to use it. Can't recommend enough!! Due to years of dying my hair an medication it was in a very poor state, what an unbelievable difference this has made.

For many years, I have searched for a hair product that would not be greasy, make my hair shiny. I was waiting for my son in Virginia, USA, who was in a Starbuck's getting us coffee, and next door was a hairdresser. I walked in out of curiosity and I noticed this Aveda hair thickener. I liked the ingredients and decided to buy a bottle. A lucky moment. i use it as instructed and it appears to thicken my hair to twice its size. No longer is my hair flat on my head after a few hours of application, but the following day, it is even thicker.

Another brilliant product
I received this product complimentary from Aveda. What is so brilliant about it, it is not at all sticky, your hair feels absolutely normal but it does what it states. My hair is very short, coloured and very very fine. Once I have used this, it definitely creates volume, smells wonderful and when you wake up the following morning your hair looks like it has just been washed. I cannot believe that my hair still looks brilliant even when it needs washing again. These products that Aveda produce for fine hair are first class, economical to use and I thank the Lord I have found them. Thank you Aveda.

Amazing !!
I have fine fly away hair that just drops after a blow dry! I have been using this product for a month now and have found I don't have to wash my hair every day because it's flat. This product and the Aveda Root Powder have revolutionised my hair. My hair appears thicker, I can get more volume and the style is still in hours later which is a first for me. My mornings now are so much easier and with the help of Aveda Root Powder volume is restored. I never ever thought this could happen as I have been a slave to my hair. I have thicker volumised hair priceless!

What is the difference between thickening tonic and volumising tonic? How do I know which is best for my fine, thinning and ageing hair?
Hi, I think the thickening tonic coats your hair to look more fuller, volumising products give lift to the roots of your hair. I tend to use the thickening tonic once a week and other hair products the rest of the week. The tonic leaves my hair in lovely condition fuller, shiny and soft.
