Perfect for every day
I ordered this the day it was launched as I had suffered a sun/wind burnt face the previous week, and wasn't looking forward to daily suncream application as I really don't like the feel and smell of most suncreams on my face. I've used it every day since and I'm pleased to say it doesn't feel anything like a suncream and my sensitive skin hasn't reacted to it at all. It has quite a strong smell when you first apply it, that I'm not that keen on, but it fades quickly once on your skin (I put my perfume on straight after which helps too). The slight colour to the product is unnoticeable once on and I definitely don't need any make up on top of it, my skin looks great.

Not sure about this product.
I bought this a few months ago as I was concerned that the moisturisers did not have a SPF option. I was surprised that it looked more like a foundation cream in colour and texture. I never used foundation as I feel that it is like a mask. My husband commented that it was noticeable. Anyway, I used it two other three times but did not like the feel or look of it so have resorted to using sun cream on my face for the moment, or no SPF and a hat. Summer nearly over, shall have to think again for next year but will not be buying this product again. I am a Liz Earle fan and happy to try the products but this one was not for me.

I have been using Liz Earle products right from the start but I think that the Environmental Defence Cream has to rate as one of the best products. I have Rosacea and find that this cream not only tones down my high colour but has the most soothing effect while providing the sun protection that Rosacea prone skin needs.The suggestion in one of the other reviews to add this cream immediately after using moisturiser has been so helpful, I find that it spreads more easily.

Best new product
I was absolutely thrilled when I saw you had brought a new sun defence (NOT SUNCREAM) product to the market - I use it every day - it is fabulous, blends well and has a nice feel, I have not noticed any smell - I never wear make up as I don’t find it necessary in the garden. This product is fab as suncream blocks your pores when used everyday but you have to protect your skin. This is a game changer for me - I can use this environmental cream when out and about and only put on sunscreen on when I’m actually sunbathing - well done Liz Earle

Its like magic!
I struggle with SPF and was longing for LE to do one. Couldnt wait to try it and it is definitely worth the wait. Upon opening it does look on the dark side. However, it sinks in beautifully, without a trace and just leaves your skin just looking better and also of course protected. Am really impressed and so glad to say bye to the dreaded white chalkiness of so many SPFs ive tried. Well done LE for bringing us an important product thats actually a pleasure to use.

I’m not sure if you are supposed to wear this as a moisturiser or in addition to moisturiser. I have very oily skin (even at 42!) so I don’t like loading up on products.
I wish the SPF was higher at least 45 would be great.
Also the the texture is generally good going on but can create a pilling effect when I put foundation on after. My solution is to let it sit for awhile -but I don’t have always have time for that in the mornings…
For the winter I will use it but in Spring I’ll go back to another brand with a higher SPF.
Not my favourite LE product but will do for now.

Disappointing
I’ve had my eye on this for a while but it hasn’t lived up to my expectations. I wasn’t expecting much coverage (and there isn’t) but it really doesn’t do anything to enhance my skin at all. I find it uncomfortable to wear on my skin and it seems quite drying - this is slightly better when used over moisturiser but I was hoping to be able to skip this step as I do when I wear my usual tinted moisturiser. Liz Earle have been really good about returning things in the past so I may well try and do that. I’m sorry to say I wouldn’t recommend this, despite being a huge fan of many Liz Earle products.

excellent product
bought this as i like to try new products and i was looking for some protection for my face, i have used it for a couple of days now and it seems to be a good product for me, you dont need to use very much as it goes a long way it is comfortable on my skin which is good as i do have resacea the tint is a good colour and gives a nice amount of cover i am really pleased with this so far and will certainly buy it again as it does a good job.
