The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution is a 10-minute exfoliating facial.

With 30% Alpha Hydroxyl Acids (Glycolic/Lactic/Tartaric/Citric), 2% Beta Hydroxyl Acid (Salicylic Acid), Hyaluronic Acid Crosspolymer, Vitamin B5, Black Carrot and Tasmanian Pepperberry.

Alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA) exfoliate the skin's topmost surface for a brighter and more even appearance. Beta hydroxyl acids (BHA) also exfoliate the skin with an extended function to help clear pore congestion. This combined 32% AHA/BHA solution offers deeper exfoliation to help fight visible blemishes and for improved skin radiance. The formula also improves the appearance of skin texture and reduces the look of fine lines with continued use.

This formula contains a studied Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative to help reduce irritation associated with acid use. This derivative is of plant origin and varies in colour seasonally and this colour variation may be apparent in the formula from time to time. This formula is further supported with a crosspolymer form of hyaluronic acid for comfort, Vitamin B5 to assist healing and black carrot as an antioxidant.

This pH of this formula is approximately 3.6. Glycolic Acid, the primary AHA used in the formula, has a pKa of 3.6 and pKa is the most important aspect to consider in formulating with acids. pKa implies acid availability. When pKa is close to pH, there is an ideal balance between salt and acidity, maximising effectiveness of the acid and reducing irritation. Higher pH numbers in such a case would increase salt which counter-intuitively would make the formula even more irritating than if the formula was more acidic.

Alcohol-free, nut-free, gluten-free, soy-free, vegan.

Directions

Use ideally in the PM, no more frequently than twice per week. Clean face and wait for skin to dry. Do not use on wet skin. Apply evenly across face and neck using your fingertips. Leave on for no more than 10 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water. Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes both during application and rinse off. This low-viscosity solution is intended to be used as a masque. Do not leave on for longer than 10 minutes. If persistent irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a physician.

This formula contains a very high concentration of free acids. We recommend use only if you are an experienced user of acid exfoliation and your skin is not sensitive. Contraindications: this formula should not be used on sensitive, peeling or compromised skin. Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards. Use only as directed. Contact of the product with the skin must be of limited frequency or duration.

Glycolic Acid, Aqua (Water), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water, Sodium Hydroxide, Daucus Carota Sativa Extract, Propanediol, Cocamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Salicylic Acid, Potassium Citrate, Lactic Acid, Tartaric Acid, Citric Acid, Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, Tasmannia Lanceolata Fruit/Leaf Extract, Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Xanthan gum, Polysorbate 20, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate, Ethylhexylglycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing product! I absolutely love this product. Literally can’t belive it’s only £6. I have very dry and sensitive skin so acids in general tend to sting my skin. But weirdly this one doesn’t really. I make sure I put it on my skin when my skin is totally dry and leave it on for 10 mins. I feel a mild tingle but definitely no sting. Afterward my skin is left instantly smooth and all flakey patches of skin are gone. I make sure I follow up with a rich moisturizer to ensure my skin doesn’t dry out. I fully recommend this product and hey, if you don’t like it, it was only £6.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helping so far... Bought this a couple of weeks ago to help with some persistent adult acne. I have quite oily but dry skin so it's really difficult to find a product that doesn't actually make things worse! Have used this a few times (you can't use too frequently) and after my skin feels so smooth and looks noticeably clearer. After just a few uses it's too early to say that this is going to completely clear everything up, but here's hoping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GRAIL! I love this product! Was introduced to it by my sister and now it's an important part or my skincare diet! I have very regular acne breakouts which last about a month and my skins scars really bad. Once my acne is cleared i'm left with loads of scars which take month's to fade, some deeper scars take years. This product has been the only thing to help fade my scars quicker. I've been using this once a week for just under two months now and have really noticed a big difference. It has also made my skin super smooth. Note: makes my skin sting like crazyyyyyyyyy for the full ten minutes! my sister does not get the same intense sensation, so assume it varies depending on skin type. (she has clear dry skin).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from By far the best thing I’ve used I bought it last week. I received it today, tried it and this how it’s made my skin look. 15 minutes in between both pictures. Would absolutely recommend it

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great face mask I bought this product after watching various you tube videos reviewing how good it is. I was a little apprehensive with it being an acid peel and the blood like colour! It does sting a little when first applied but it wears off after a few minutes. I leave it on for no longer than 10 minutes as it states on the bottle. When washed off my skin feels wonderful, it looks radiant and fine lines appear to be reduced. It is a little drying so i use a good gentle moisturiser afterwards and avoid any other acids that day. At the moment im only using it once a week but hoping to up that to twice a week once my skin is used to it. I will buy this again, very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this!! I had never used anything like this before and was a little nervous of using it the first time. I really liked the result, clearer, brighter and smoother looking skin. No issues at all. I read up about it and realised that you need to use a lot more than I was using. So the next time I used it, I used about 2 whole droppers full in the palm of my hand and applied all over face (avoiding eye and lip area). The result was even better!! I am going to stock up on this!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really great I have only used this once but I am really impressed. I've never used a skin peel before so I wasn't sure what to expect. Once I got over the comedy of the solution resembling blood, I followed the instructions to the letter and I was impressed with the results. I would describe my skin as textured and a mixture of dry, red and also extremely oily It helped fight the dry flaky patches of skin I had as well and left my skin really soft and much smoother. There was no irritation after using it and I am happy to add this to my routine to improve my skin.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brightens skin amazingly My skin is very dry and sensitive. I use this straight after having a shower 1-2 times a week. I have been using this product for around a month now. I am very pleased with my skin. My skins feels smooth and has reduced my pigmentation. Make sure you wear moisturiser with SPF in it; it makes your skin more prone to sun burns and scarring.

How many drops should you use when applying?

Asked by: Anonymous
I don't count drops but instead I pipette it straight on the face making 2 inch lines... one on the forehead, one diagonally down each cheek, on vertically down the nose, one across the chin and a bit above my lip. I think it works out about two pipettes full. I then gently rub in circular motions ensuring not to get any under the eye area. Sorry for the bad explanation... I hope that makes sense a little bit!

Hi, After using this, can i use a retinoid or retinol toner?   Or can is it safe to use the retinoid or retinol toner before the niacinimide and zinc?  I have a really bad acne prone skin and it’s depressing!

Can I use lactic acid or retinoid after using this? Thanks

Asked by: Anonymous
Hi, Thanks for reaching out to us. The brand advise the following: "A customer can use the The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution and then they should be able to use any of our Granactive Retinoid formulas afterwards without any problems. If they were using a retinol, it might be advisable to not use them on the same night just in case they experience irritation. We wouldn’t recommend using the lactic acid at all with the AHA peel as they are both exfoliating options and doing so risks over-exfoliating the skin, so we would recommend to use EITHER the peel OR the lactic acid formula." I hope this helps! Thanks, Chloe - Beauty Expert

My hand have some pigmentationnon their and have slightly beckme damadhed because im always cleaning and working.. can inuse this on my hands

Asked by: Anonymous
Hi, Thanks for reaching out to us. The brand advises the following: "This product is not officially tested for use on the hands, so it should be used on this area at the customers discretion. As it hasn't been tested for use on the hands, we cannot claim that this product is safe for use on that area, however, logically it should be fine as skin on our hands tends to be thicker and less sensitive that skin on our face." I hope this helps! Thanks, Chloe - Beauty Expert
