Very effective in extreme conditions
They say: "fast-absorbing, non-greasy, non sticky"... compared to what, I'm not sure! Very easy to make yourself look like you've been smeared in white emulsion grease with this, although it does absorb eventually. It kept our fair (skin type 2) family burn-free in the Maldives, so it is highly effective. Perhaps too effective, as we didn't really tan as much as we'd like! It seems very durable on other parts of the body, even after multiple times in and out of the water. Tip: reapply on areas that get rubbed, e.g. around the waistband, etc. I would probably go with SPF30 next time, with 50 for bald heads / noses / tops of ears etc.

Tried and trusted over time
With my fair skin and propensity for dark sun spots a good min SPF50 is a must every day. I've used Ultrasun (tried practically everything in their SPF range) for many years now. Occasionally I venture out and try another SPF, but I keep coming back to this. I like used physical SPF only, and this has a claim that it lasts up to 8 hours - perfect for work days. It doesn't cause break outs (I have oily skin), so I love it, it ticks all the boxes. This is a very large one, family friendly, I use both on my face and body, and it's very cost effective. Love it!!

Simply the best
I use this spf everyday to protect any of my body that's exposed to the sun. It feels a little thick and sticky when you first apply it, but it also makes your skin feel nourished and looked after. I love the high protection factor as im really fair. Doesn't make my skin look streaky and doesn't make my sensitive skin freak out. The fact I can get it in a large bottle is a huge bonus. The best sunscreen I've ever used

Great for the whole family!
I've been using ultrasun for over 8 years now. As a redhead with sensitive skin I've always been careful with suncream, my husband is paler than I am and I have 2 young boys. We all use this suncream, pop it on in the morning, it dries in 10 mins with no sticky feeling, and it's lasts all day. We've never had any sunburn but had a lovely tan. I don't bother with anything else!

Does what it says on the bottle!
Having developed a very bad sun allergy. Ultra sun 50+ was recommended to me. I can now go out and not worry that my allergy will recur. It is a little thick, but after rubbing in well on my arms and legs it soaks in and protects, which is the most important

Amazing sunscreen
I brought this away with 3 pale skinned kids and it lasted for 2 weeks and not one inch of sun burn even after daily 2 hours in a watermark. Definitely will be buying for next sunny holiday!

Excellent product.
Fantastic product. Excellent coverage. Not had any issues even in the high temperatures! Not burnt despite only applying one. Lightweight, easily absorbed. Definitely recommend.

Does anyone know if this sunscreen has a white cast and is good for dark skin?
I found this sunscreen hard to rub in so it did leave bit of a white cast. I bought it as I suffer with heat rash and it was recommended by several pharmacists. Using this cream my heat rash was the very worst I’ve ever had it. Wouldn’t use it again and it is expensive.

Can this be worn on the face too?
I don't see any reason why you couldn't wear it on your face but I think that it may sting somewhat if you get it near your eyes. Also I don't think that it would be that good for wearing under make up.
It's definitely better than no SPF on your face but equally I think that there are better face SPF's out there.

Is this a once a day formula please?

It is recommended that a once-a-day sunscreen is not fully effective against the sun's harmful rays.
The Ultrasun Ultra Sensitive Very High SPF50+ Extreme Formula offers high protection and is very good for sensitive skin.
With any sun protection we do recommend re-applying throughout the day especially in hot climates.

What would be the “use by” time period for this large size Ultrasun 50SPF please?

The 'Period After Opening' symbol shows as 24 months.
I would recommend storing this in a cool, dark cupboard until you are ready to open it!
