Dries out too fast!
I love Bobbi Brown and cannot live without its eye pencil in mahogany. I have bought 5 pots of gel liner in the past, and only one, chocolate shimmer ink, is still usable. I have noted that other reviews have mentioned that these dry out and sadly, this is true. It's such a shame, as I loved the colours and found they stayed on all day, but I now have 4 pots of dried out gel eyeliner. I too tried to scrape off the top layer, hoping that it would be softer underneath, but no luck.I think it only fair to warn others to think carefully before you order. Unless you are going to use it up fairly quickly, you will also end up with unusable eye liner.

Stiff, unusable on a brush
I haven't seen any recent reviews of 'Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner' but I bought some in July, received replacement pot in August. Both were unusable as stiff, could only get clots on the brush. Quite different from the one I tried in the shop which was creamy. B Brown were responsive, sending the replacement and in the end refunding money as they couldn't guarantee the next replacement would not be the same. I returned the pot for their experts to try and they agreed it was unusable. Asked if any other similar comments and they couldn't tell me. Suggested 'a whole batch' must have 'dried out'. Has anyone else had this problem? Something very wrong with not a cheap line here.

Great liner
This liner is fantastic and worth the splurge. I am giving it four stars rather than five only because I find that certain shades behave better than others on my eyelids (can get a bit oily during the day). I don't agree with the claim that it doesn't transfer all day full stop (if you have oilier lids), but if you use a very good eye base then yes there are very, very long lasting. The non - shimmery shades are more long lasting than the shimmery ones without a primer I find, although in a warmer climate you need a primer either way. Other than that, a fantastic range of shades and definitely easy application (you don't have to be an expert to use these).

Something has gone badly wrong
I used to love this eyeliner and have been using it for many years. It always dried out half way through the pot but I just accepted that. I was very disappointed to have to wait over 6 months for stocks in the UK to be replenished but delighted finally to be able to buy another pot a few weeks ago. The first time I used it I found it as dry as the one I had had for over a year. I returned it and bought another pot from a different retailer and am having exactly the same problem again. You have clearly either changed the formula or these pots have been sitting around somewhere for a very long time before being shipped to the UK. This is incredibly disappointing and I now have to find another brand instead which will be difficult as I have sensitive eyes and this has been my 'go to' for many years.

Great texture & stays put!
Amazing eyeliner that stays on all day. Has a great gel texture that glides on. You need to also get a good firm bristled eye liner brush to get the best out of this, and some oil based eye make up remover - otherwise it's there to stay! The texture dries out after a year to 18 months or so, but at that point I feel like its at the end of its lifespan, being an eye make up, so would be getting a new one anyway. It would be great if they did these in smaller pots. I would love to buy more colours but as I never get through a pot it would be very extravagant, the only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars.

At last !
I bought this product after trying several disappointing liners. Liquid liners seem to emulsify immediately or refuse to stick to the eyelid. Pencils are a complete waste of time as they warm and melt after a couple of hours. Thank you Bobbi Brown for a liner that 'does what it says on the tin'. This liner has just withstood 38 degrees of Italian sunshine and sticks with me through thick and thin! Brilliant product and massive choice of colours. The only improvement would be to include a brush? Having to buy one makes it quite a pricey purchase, especially if you're trying it out for the first time.

Black Mauve Shimmer Eye Liner is gorgeous!
I bought the black mauve shimmer as a softer alternative to the black ink (am blonde with pale blue eyes). Goes on very easily when you use the BB fine eyeliner brush and even as a gel liner novice, I found it simple to use, by using little strokes first to build up a straight line. Colour stays strong without fading for at least 12 hours and nothing smudges it, not even the British weather! Delighted! Thanks Bobbi for designing with our weather in mind!!!

Love this liner!
Have used this eyeliner for years and have not found an equivalent for staying power. My only complaint is for months now I have not been able to source this product anywhere. Can Bobbi Brown please explain the reason and say when it might reach your website and shops. It is a great miss.
