Didn’t know how good it would be!!
Brought this with about 4 other Ordinary products and this is the one I keep going back to time and time again. It’s has eased my skin irritations and my skin looks more healthy, smoother and much more moisturised!! I am loving my skin all of a sudden, before this product I was miserable. But be warned if can sting really badly when you use it in the beginning or if you have red sensitive areas. The plus is that it will pass and the new skin will come through better than ever. I am happy to use any product with SPF in the daytime and I only use the Lactic Acid at night. The results are worth it, and I never imagined it would be become an indispensable part of my regime but it has!

Life changing product
I bought this product a month ago, I had medium-grade acne outbreaks. I started using this acid every evening, and not go out in the sun without a hat. And a month after I can really say that i didn't have a single acne outbreak. This acid really cleanses the skin and improves the texture.

Great on blackheads!
I bought this around 2 weeks ago. Whilst the blackhead farm which is my chin and nose hasn't completely disappeared they are much less noticeable.

Magic in a bottle!!!
This is actually amazing! I used to use the 5% but my skin had gotten too used to it that it stopped working so I bought the 10% and it is my holy grail product. I use it every nigh!! It has a superficial exfoliating effect, so in the morning when I wake up I can already see that my scars are lighter. It’s really good for textured skin and skin that has scarring as it helps to clear it up. I have extremely sensitive skin so this should be fine for others who have sensitive skin, however still do a patch test to make sure and ALWAYS wear Spf the next morning.

The Ordinary 10% lactic acid - amazing!
This is my favourite budget friendly exfoliating acid. Haven’t used this in a while and forgot how much I loved it. Instantly made a huge difference to my dehydrated flaky skin. Combined with my hyaluronic acid, my skin hasn’t looked so good maybe ever. Build up tolerance slowly if not used before it’s it is a stronger acid, or start with the 5% and build up.

Perfect for getting rid of scars
I almost never write reviews but this stuff is so good I felt I had to! I have pretty bad scars all over from being a tomboy as a kid and some extra bad ones from acne on my back but since I started using this acid (about 3 weeks ago) they have really melted away, it's amazing. Even my really large, white scars have disappeared into my skin almost entirely.

Great little bottle
Been using this every other night in conjunction with retinol and Vit C and have noticed a different. As it is a gentle exfoliating serum I’ve even got my son to try it. Love the Ordinary products, active products that work and reasonably priced.

Cute bottle
Love this product I use it all the time,keeps the skin smooth and fresh,I feel it clarifies the skin. My daughter who has eczema also uses it with the no nasty reactions. If you exfoliate regularly skins hydration levels are better!!

Lactic and glycolic acids are both used as skin exfoliants. Lactic acid can be less irritating than glycolic and I wouldn't use both at the same time. For reduced pigmentation on the skin after blemishes I'd use azeliac acid added to your skin routine.

Please can you tell me does this help with wrinkles? I am looking into it for my mother has has wrinkles due to sun exposure in younger days without spf!
It’s not specifically designed for wrinkles, it mainly exfoliates your face. Retinol might be better for your mum

Hey there,
If you have not used Lactic Acid before, we would recommend using the The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% + HA 2% to start with while you skin adjusts to this acid.
You would apply this exfoliating acid once per day, ideally in the PM as the first serum in your routine after cleansing and toning followed by a serum (if you wish) and your moisturiser. It can be diluted with other treatments to reduce strength until skin develops tolerance.
As this product is exfoliating, we would highly recommend using and SPF in the day when using Lactic Acid and to avoid other acids/ retinols when using this product.

Can i use this together with Niacinamide?
Hey there,
This can be used with the The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. You would use The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% in the morning after cleansing and The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% + HA 2% in the evening after cleansing (start with the lowest formula if you have not used Lactic Acid before so your skin can adjust to the foreign substance).

We would not advise using The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA 2% alongside products containing Vitamin C as both ingredients have exfoliating properties, this means that using them together may over process the skin and cause some irritation.
